Beauty’s Haven Farm & Equine Rescue, Inc. was established in 2006. Our mission is to help horses in need, to educate the public about proper horse care, what to do if they come across a horse that is being abused or neglected, to provide assistance (when possible) to horse owners going through a short period of financial hardship, and to help humans through helping horses. We give horses that have been neglected, abused, and/or abandoned a chance to begin their life, again – without pain and worry, but with dignity and respect. We welcome horses that are no longer needed, wanted or useful to their owners and we place them in good homes. We don’t feel there are “unwanted” horses – some are just “misplaced” and we want to help as many as we can find a good forever home. We also network with other organizations and individuals to help horses. We help horses that are at risk of ending up in the slaughter pipeline where they would be at high risk of being sold to kill buyers to be trucked across the borders to Canada or Mexico where they are slaughtered for human consumption. We take custody of horses abandoned by owners or confiscated by authorities, and we take horses that can no longer be cared for by their owner for various reasons. Our goal is to rehabilitate and train them for use as companion animals, riding horses and therapy horses -we find good forever loving homes for them. We are also a Sanctuary to horses with special needs. We have taken in babies as young as two hours old, pregnant mares, and our oldest rescue was 39 years old! Age and breed do not matter. They all deserve a chance and if, after we have done everything we can to help them, they are suffering and their quality of life is not good we love them enough to help them cross Rainbow Bridge. But when they do, they do so with their dignity they are never alone – they know they are loved.
We are a 501(c)(3) all volunteer non-profit organization with no paid staff. We operate totally off of donations from others. We have dedicated volunteers that help us to accomplish our mission – to help horses in need. We are pro-life and have experienced many miracles here. We hope to experience many more.
