Heidi B. had a problem. Her horse Woody was out on free lease for the past few years. She went to check on him this summer and found him in very bad shape.

Amul was in the same pasture as Woody, and very emaciated. She took BOTH horses home as the owner had basically abandoned them and she couldn’t just leave him there. Heidi has a large farm, and lots of pasture and “thought” at the time that these two would gain weight once out on field.

They were, however, beyond needing just grass, and their teeth are horrendous. They both drop and dribble grain and quid hay and grass.

OHAAT has awarded Heidi with a grant to get the teeth floated on all 3. Funds are pending for feed/hay as a resource is being looked into. We look forward to seeing these gents back in their former glory!

Anabel, Jade, Enya and Emma

Hoofing Around Rescue in NY repossessed these four after a routine check on their adopter showed they were not being properly cared for. All need supplements and LOTS of feed to get them back into shape. Taking in four with such extensive needs is a strain for anyone. We look forward to watching them bloom under her care.

Jennifer K. reached out to us needing help with feed. The eldest, a 25yr old mare
was the biggest problem. She was feeding Amplify to help her gain weight, but lost her job and has been unable to afford it ($40/bag).
Her husband is a truck driver and his hours have been cut as well. To
add insult to injury, she just had gallbladder surgery. They had to do
2 surgeries! There are 4 kids (one very young) and we think the horses
are what keep her sane :-)

We were happy to be able to give her feed assistance to help keep her “therapists” fat and happy.
