This handsome man (formerly #540 from the 11/30/11 Camelot auction) is now a gelding. His new owner is anxiously waiting for him to be out of quarantine so they can start their new life together in PA.

How cool is this? Every day Mike Smith (the jockey who rode Zenyatta) picks a nominated charity to be his Charity of the day. He challenges his fans to donate $1 to the charity! This will be interesting to see what we end up with.

OHAAT Receives Donation From Sales of Calendars

Nicholasville, KY-12/14/11- Months ago, Sarah K. Andrew, the award-winning equine photographer, who donates her time capturing the soul of the Camelot horses with her camera, and Gina Keesling of Hoofprints notified us of their decision to donate all the profits of the Horses and Hope calendar to US. This was a complete and unexpected surprise and we were understandably flattered to have been chosen.

Fast forward a bit to Saturday. Sarah has come to KY to present us a check for the proceeds. The calendar has gone into a second printing, so we knew a lot had been sold, but what was in store for us was mind blowing.

The proceeds from the sales was over $26,000 (so far)! That is a LOT of calendars!

Most of the funds will be used for our Gelding program. We are setting up a special fund and Sarah will have input on how we spend it.

We are honored and a bit awed. Thank you just doesn’t seem like enough. To Sarah K. Andrew, her mother Vickie who helps her at the auction, Gina Keesling at Hoofprints and all the thousands who post the Camelot horses weekly, you have our heartfelt appreciation.

Percy was purchased from Camelot Auction by Scarlet Rose Farm in CT. He is a 1yr old stud colt that is soon to be a gelding and will make someone a great friend.

These two racehorses in NY found themselves in a bad situation. Poor body scores and loaded with parasites. The breeder’s wife found out about them and they stepped up to the plate. They are being rehabbed and are now geldings and will be looking for second careers. Kudos to caring breeders!

B. Gorzycki got this feed lot donkey from none other than Edgewood Longears Safehouse in NM! We know that he’s going to make her a super friend now that he is a gelding.
