On December 14, 2012 Sarah K. Andrews was interviewed by HRTV about the remarkable calendar Horses and Hope. If you missed it you can see a replay here
Triple Crown Nutrition, Inc. is currently running a Holiday Giveaway Contest. OHAAT was blessed with being chosen as a top 20 finalist! What does this mean? Well, at a minimum we will be receiving a check for $4000.00! If we win first place in the voting make the $14000.00! We would like to thank Triple Crown for their generous donations to all 20 finalists. We would like to ask our fans who have Facebook pages to please vote for us! Every dime that we receive will go to helping horses directly.
Last year the Horses and Hope Calendar was a huge success in so many ways! The proceeds, of which 100% was donated to One Horse at a Time, Inc., was spent helping a total of 318 horses. Most of this by way of gelding grants, however emergency medical and emergency feed grants were also given.
To get in on the action for this years calendar you can purchase at this link!
Penny was interviewed by Business Lexington about slaughter and the Camelot effort.
This handsome man (formerly #540 from the 11/30/11 Camelot auction) is now a gelding. His new owner is anxiously waiting for him to be out of quarantine so they can start their new life together in PA.
How cool is this? Every day Mike Smith (the jockey who rode Zenyatta) picks a nominated charity to be his Charity of the day. He challenges his fans to donate $1 to the charity! This will be interesting to see what we end up with.
It has been two months since these four were removed from their adoptive home due to neglect. They are showing marked improvement!
Nicholasville, KY-12/14/11- Months ago, Sarah K. Andrew, the award-winning equine photographer, who donates her time capturing the soul of the Camelot horses with her camera, and Gina Keesling of Hoofprints notified us of their decision to donate all the profits of the Horses and Hope calendar to US. This was a complete and unexpected surprise and we were understandably flattered to have been chosen.
Fast forward a bit to Saturday. Sarah has come to KY to present us a check for the proceeds. The calendar has gone into a second printing, so we knew a lot had been sold, but what was in store for us was mind blowing.
The proceeds from the sales was over $26,000 (so far)! That is a LOT of calendars!
Most of the funds will be used for our Gelding program. We are setting up a special fund and Sarah will have input on how we spend it.
We are honored and a bit awed. Thank you just doesn’t seem like enough. To Sarah K. Andrew, her mother Vickie who helps her at the auction, Gina Keesling at Hoofprints and all the thousands who post the Camelot horses weekly, you have our heartfelt appreciation.
A terrific article in Raceday 360 about Sarah K. Andrew‘s marvelous calendar and her donation to us.
