One Horse At A Time, Inc. (“OHAAT”) was founded in 2008 by a group of women who were drawn together by the saga of a starving colt. This small group of women realized that together they could help, even if it was only at the rate of one horse at a time. The group felt that an organization was needed to offer financial or other asistance to those who rescue horses. And so One Horse at a Time was born.
OHAAT offers financial support for emergency hay, feed and vet care. One of the assistance programs we’re most proud of is our gelding grant program. OHAAT believes that one of the leading problems facing the equine population is overbreeding. Unlike most gelding programs available, OHAAT provides funds upfront to help pay for gelding.
